Tours of duty

• Attended various Electronic Technicians Schools at Great Lakes, Illinois

• Took the USS Gilbert Islands, an Aircraft Carrier, out of "Mothballs" at Philadelphia Navy Yards

• Off the east coast of the US on board the USS Gilbert Islands CVE-107 providing training efforts for various anti-submarine air squadrons

• 1954 - Mediterranean Training Cruise in antisubmarine warfare and visited ports in Algiers, Greece, Italy and France

• Put the USA Gilbert Islands back into the "Mothball" Fleet at end of 1954 in Boston
